Unreal series has been neglected lately, Epic agrees

Back in the day, Unreal — the game, not the engine — was the hotness. It was absurdly fast-paced and addictive and, sadly, hasn’t been mentioned since it’s lackluster appearance on PS3 in 2007. We’re not the only ones who’ve noticed this absence as it seems Epic studio head Mike Capps shares that sentiment.

It’s been a long time since we shipped an Unreal game, and it’s an awfully loved franchise that we hold pretty dear here. We haven’t been giving it the attention it deserves because we’ve been focusing on Gears of War and we’re still a relatively small company,”

After Gears 3, a new Unreal game would be an appreciated change of pace. Don’t misunderstand, Gears is great, but no series does it like Unreal. Maybe I need to make the 2-hour drive to Cary, NC and make it happen.
