Get grinding.

Killing Floor 3 has a pretty robust crafting system in place for the players to explore, and you can make different mods to customize the guns in your armory.

Every Perk has signature weapons to use, and they can be upgraded with the help of mods. However, the mods require resources to craft them in the first place. The easiest way to get crafting materials is from zeds. However, every zed drops only specific types of this, so let’s take a look at how to obtain all of them.

How to get all crafting materials in Killing Floor 3?

Crafting MaterialHow to getHow to use
Bio SampleDrops from Husks, Sirens, Kiosks, Satcoms, and GorefastsUsed in Ammo Pourches, Grips, and Magazines
Bio SteelDrops from Gorefasts, Husks, Sirens, Kiosks, and SatcomsUsed in Barrels, Baldes, Pommels, Receivers, and Sights
Chemical AgentDrops from Cysts, Clots, and CrawlersUsed in Ammos, Coatings, and Underbarrel attachments
Electrical PartsDrops from Clots, Gorefasts, Cameras, Loud Speakers, and Power WallsUsed in Barrels, Receivers, and Sights
Gray matterDrops from Bloats, Husks, and SirensUsed in Ammos, Ammo Pouches, Coatings, Grips, Magazines, and Underbarrel attachments
IchorDrops from Chimera, Impaler, and Queen CrawlerAll level 3 weapon mod upgrades
Scrap MetalDrops from Clots, Gorefasts, Cameras, Loud Speakers, and Power WallsUsed in Blades, Pommels, and Receivers
Zed TechDrops from Scrakes and FleshpoundsAll level 2 weapon mod upgrades

Crafting materials drop randomly; killing a zed doesn’t guarantee a drop. The only exception to this rule, in my observation, is boss enemies like Chimeras, Impalers, and Queen Crawlers. You will always obtain Ichor from defeating them, but the quantity can vary.

How to craft mods in Killing Floor 3?

Once you have enough crafting materials in your inventory, go to the Armory.

  • Choose a weapon you want to mod.
  • Select the weapon part you want to mod.
  • You’ll find the set of available options that you can craft.
  • If you have the required amount of crafting materials for that particular part, you can add it to your inventory.

That’s how easy it is to craft different items in Killing Floor 3. You can also apply your created mods and save the customized loadouts to use them in a round. Do note that mods raise the acquisition cost of that gun, so you should balance any new additions.
