Sony has released a batch of images for Beyond: Two Souls in celebration of Comic-Con. Interestingly, these images typify exactly my problem with Quantic Dream — in that there are zero in-game shots whatsoever, and the gallery’s dedicated to pictures of Ellen Page and David “The Auteur” Cage.
Obviously, that’s the important thing gamers need to know about Beyond. That a Hollywood movie actor is in it, and that David Cage knows a famous person. Page was the game’s one big announcement at E3, and apparently it’s still the only bit of news we need to know. Videogames is movies, guys! Videogames is movies! Why bother telling us anything about the game itself when we got HOLLYWOODS OF AMERICAS all up in this ass?
All you need is a mo-cap suit and an actor, and you’ve got a game.
