What does the Blowgun do in PEAK?

Watch where you aim it.

Did you know that you can find weapons in PEAK? Although it isn’t exactly a PVP game, you can troll friends or tackle a particular enemy using the Blowgun, leaving them feeling lethargic. However, finding this item isn’t easy, and figuring out how to use it effectively is even harder.

What does the Blowgun do in PEAK?

The Blowgun is a one-time use item you can find during your PEAK runs that you can use on other players or the Scoutmaster. If you shoot another player with it, you’ll inflict a hefty lethargic status effect on them, potentially eliminating them if they’re already low on stamina.

Using the Blowgun on other people is almost always just to troll. There’s no upside to being hit by it, so I’d only suggest doing it if you want some laughs with friends and don’t mind the risk of them falling asleep and tumbling off a ledge. Using it effectively requires finding a particular enemy instead.

Does the Blowgun work on the Scoutmaster?

Yes, the Blowgun works on the Scoutmaster. Although it won’t kill them, you can temporarily stun them, letting you escape and run back down to your friends, or give them some extra time to catch up. Either way, it’s a great way to eliminate one obstacle stopping you from finishing the game, even if it isn’t a permanent measure.

There are a few reasons why you or a friend may be facing off against the Scoutmaster. If you ditch your friends and approach the level’s peak by yourself, the Scoutmaster will spawn as a way to scold you for doing so. If you’re not careful, they can easily launch you off a ledge to your death. If you’re a solo player, you can make them spawn using the Scoutmaster’s Bugle, which has a very low chance of spawning.

You can also have a 1-on-1 with the Scoutmaster to earn a Steam achievement, the Mentorship Badge. Obtaining this badge doesn’t require using the Blowgun, but having it will make it easier to escape once you trigger it.
