Phasmophobia The Apocalypse Draws Near weekly challenge mode tips
This is one of the trickier challenges in Phasmophobia, so here are some of the best tips you can employ to help you get it done.
- Make sure you select the right map. This challenge can only be completed on Sunny Meadows Restricted, not regular Sunny Meadows, so make sure you select the right one so your progress counts. These two have very similar names and layouts, so it’s an easy mistake to make.
- Bring all your equipment to the front door. Before you start investigating, bring all of the items you need to the front door. It can be a bit annoying to do, but bringing all of your items to the front door early on buys you back a lot of time throughout the match. It’s especially important here since you have no setup time at all to work with.
- Use the Tier III Firelight to see. All Flashlights and UV Lights are permanently broken in this trial, so the only light you can keep with you to see is the Tier III Firelight. Keep an Igniter with you and use this helpful lantern to find your way around.
- Watch for unofficial evidence, behaviors, and patterns. Although the ghost won’t give you any real evidence, unofficial evidence is always present, so this is what you need to focus on to succeed here. Look for clues like The Mimic’s fake Ghost Orbs, the Wraith’s refusal to step in Salt, and the Phantom’s refusal to appear in photos to catch the culprit here.
- Be wary of early hunters. There’s no setup time in this one, so it’s possible that you may be hunted as soon as you step on the map. Have a plan of action ready at all times in case a hunt occurs, ensuring you’re ready to deter them somehow, then run or hide as needed.
- Use defensive tools to stay safe. Your Crucifixes should be placed in the ghost room as soon as possible. Incense should be kept nearby and deployed when needed, and Salt should be ready to be placed to deter the ghost as needed. The ghost will try to hunt you frequently because of your low sanity, so be ready to do everything in your power to stay alive through it.
- Play with friends. Your odds of success are a lot better with allies helping you through this tricky trial. With additional ghost hunters at your side, you can explore the map more quickly, work together to gather evidence, and continue the investigation even if you perish.
- Don’t give up. Since all equipment is provided for free, there’s nothing to lose in this challenge. Because of this, you can keep trying without worrying about losing money or equipment. Give each contract your all and keep at it until you get it done.
- Make an educated guess. Some ghosts are just easier to identify than others, so luck plays a large role in how easy or tough this trial is. You should always guess before you leave, then reroll to try again, even if you have no idea what the correct ghost type is.
