Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is full of wonderful and haunting foes called Nevrons, but they are not all created or battled equally.
Several of these foes are large in size and power, while others can be deceptive or mysterious, sort of like the Pรฉtank, which is a ball with a glowing core that runs away from you when you get close to it. There’s an introductory battle against one of these enemies in Act I of the game, but there are several more found throughout the expedition, and they’re all worth defeating.
Here’s everything there is to know about the Pรฉtank enemy in Expedition 33.
What is a Pรฉtank in Expedition 33?
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a Pรฉtank is a special enemy that looks like a kind of iron ball with legs, and it scampers around random areas of the world when you discover one. This enemy can be annoying to catch up with, but it drops good loot, sort of like a loot goblin in Diablo, so it’s worth hunting down.
How to catch up to a Pรฉtank in Expedition 33

If you are in an area with a Pรฉtank, make sure to clear out any nearby enemies first. You’ll notice right away when you get close to a Pรฉtank. It will flee quickly, preventing you from triggering the encounter to defeat it.
Once the area around the Pรฉtank is cleared, search around the playable space for something on the ground that looks like this:

This is sort of like a plate that the Pรฉtank will stand on once you corner it into that area, so you will need to come at the Pรฉtank from an angle that will force it towards this plate to make it sit still so you can begin the encounter with it.
From then on, there’s a little more work to do before the loot is yours, so get ready to dodge or parry your way to victory, with some haste.
How to defeat a Pรฉtank in Expedition 33

The Pรฉtank battle functions as a mini-boss fight, showing its health bar at the top of the screen. You are on a bit of a timer in these fights, because the Pรฉtank will flee after it takes a few turns in battle (the game will tell you how many turns are left each time), so you need to defeat it before then. Keep your eye on the battle timeline on the top left of your screen to know when the Pรฉtank will take a turn.
Try your best to keep damaging the Pรฉtank to to fill its stun meter and break it, which will stun the ball and prevent is from escaping. This is the best way to keep it around long enough for you to finish it off, along with parrying for big damage to chunk its HP down quickly.
Pรฉtanks will sometimes summon other Nevrons to fight alongside it in an attempt to slow you down, making the fight even more annoying. Thankfully, these should be enemies you are used to fighting, so dodge their attacks or parry them for big damage to eliminate them quickly to keep the focus on the Pรฉtank.
Defeating a Pรฉtank will reward you with valuable items like Colour of Lumina and Chroma Catalysts, which you can use to upgrade your characters and weapons. Because of this, it’s always worth seeking out and defeating the Pรฉtank when you encounter one during your RPG journey.
If you’re unable to defeat the Pรฉtank, it will escape and seemingly disappear for good. Although, exiting the area and coming back or reloading a save may make it appear again.
