Gears of War is getting a patch — but I thought it was perfect!?

Gears of War: the game that got an incredible amount of hype and somehow managed to live up to our high expectations. Or did it? That’s a topic you might want to think about before you get pissed off at me. Gears isn’t perfect. So, when you see reviews that give it a 10, don’t automatically think that it is perfect, because it does have some minor issues.

One such issue is the multiplayer. The ranked matches are set up in a way that makes it incredibly easy to cheat. Not only that, but there are some connectivity issues when you try to join a match. But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Xbox 360 games feature similar problems.

In case I somehow managed to discourage you from buying the game, I would also like to mention that Gears makes up for all of these shortcomings. The multiplayer is still insanely fun and there really isn’t much lag compared to most other 360 games.

The good news, however, is that Epic is already working on a solution to our troubles and they hope to release it very soon. This patch will address the connection issues as well as several other bugs that have been reported. You know what that means, don’t you? It means buy Gears of War already, because you are really missing out.
