Monster World IV also coming to Virtual Console

Recommended Videos

A few days ago, we brought news that Japanese-exclusive Mega Drive title Monster World IV was heading onto PSN and XBLA. Considering that the previous entries in the Wonder Boy / Monster World series had been released on VC, it’s safe to wonder why this one isn’t also hitting the Wii.

It looks like the game will indeed make a Wii appearance, at least across the pond. The European PEGI board has rated the game for the VC, while the Australian OFLC rated for multiple platforms. Though the latter doesn’t specifically indicate a Wii release, the fact that game is noted as being the original version suggests it won’t be translated — untouched imports are a hallmark of the VC.

So where’s the ESRB love? I somehow doubt that the game will skip American Wiis altogether, but at least our international peeps won’t be left in the cold.
