Layoffs at Obsidian: South Park team affected

Recommended Videos

Social buzz this morning pointed us to layoffs at Obsidian Entertainment, the developers behind the upcoming South Park RPG. Twitter, blogs and even Obsidian’s forums have lit up with news of team members being dropped. Quick updates to the LinkedIn pages of casualties show that the South Park team was affected by this round of layoffs. A tipster told GameBanshee that just started on Monday has been laid off.

From the looks of it an upcoming next-gen game project has also been canceled, most likely something called Project North Carolina. Jason Fader was said to be the project lead, and now he’s out of a job.

We’ve reached out to Obsidian for a comment on the situation.

Our best goes out to those that lost a good gig this week.
