Elebits no longer Elesux?

I can’t believe I’m about to type this, but check this out: Elebits is actually Elegood. It no longer Elesux. Yes, me, Robert “Elesux” Summa is here to tell you that there is hope in Elebits land. I’m as amazed as you are, trust me. So, how do I know it no longer Elesux? Well, I actually got to sit down in a normal room and play a longer, more final build of the game.

First off, the game was much easier not only because I was sitting down comfortably, but also because I now have some good experience with the Wiimote. I was told that other noob gaming journos and PR types had trouble with Elebits because they aren’t as awesome as I am with the controls — thank you Zelda.

But, perhaps the biggest improvement is that the folks at Konami seemed to have nailed down the actual preciseness of the Wiimote and how you move to the edge of the screen to turn yourself around — something I hope that Red Steel also nails down before it ships, in fact, Elebits actually gave me hope that it could be done properly.

Overall, the game is fun, highly-addictive, and has this very Katamari Damacy feel to it. The bigger levels give you more time and you even have certain Elebits to collect and find and unlock. I poked around a sort of “extras” menu and saw that the game will show you and give small bios of certain Elebits you’ve come across — some are even evil and hurt you by accident.

Due out sometime next month, Elebits has suddenly turned into a title that will actually be respectable and fun — not to mention, it has multiplayer for you and your Elebuddy. Color me shocked, but I actually am looking forward to Elebits now. God I’m pathetic.
