505 Games has expanded its portfolio of business ventures this week, with the news that – via parent company Digital Bros – the publisher has purchased mobile gaming studio Infinity Plus Two, best known for its work on popular gem stackers Puzzle Quest and Gems of War.

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Infinity Plus Two (IP2) has a catalog of over 30 mobile titles, with the developer focusing mostly on the lucrative free-to-play market. Founder Steve Fawkner will remain with the company post-acquisition, continuing to direct the studio’s output under the 505 Games banner. 505 Games has made it clear that it hopes the purchase will help the publisher gain ground in the F2P mobile gaming market.

“IP2 is a proven studio with phenomenal success over the years. Their creative vision and extensive experience will be a great addition to 505 Games,” said 505 Games’ Clive Robert. “The F2P market has seen a tremendous amount of growth and rise in popularity over the years and has always been a key facet of the company’s growth strategy. As one of the leading third-party publishers of F2P games across multiple platforms, this latest acquisition solidifies our investment in internal development and builds on our library of owned IP.”
