It looks like a nice start for Nintendo’s upsized portable, the 3DS XL, in Japan. Enterbrain data says that they moved 193,441 units over the past weekend, the first two days the system was on the market. That’s about twice the sales in the same amount of time that Nintendo saw with the last upsized portable, the DSi XL.
The game it launched with, New Super Mario Bros. 2, also did very well over the weekend, moving 430,185 copies in Japan. According to Gamasutra, the first NSMB game did a bit better over a two-day period, selling 480k units.
