2K Games has just sent word that XCOM 2 is in development, and will be a sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the recently beloved reboot of the series. Firaxis Games is once again handling the project, which is great news for fans.

It will take place 20 years in the future, and will feature a storyline in which humanity lost the war against the aliens, and a new world order has been established. Spooky. It’s up to XCOM to reunite and once again extinguish the enemy threat.

Expect more news at E3, but for now, check out the teaser trailer from IGN. The only confirmed platform right now is PC, and it will release in November 2015. Feral Interactive will handle the Mac and Linux ports.
