20% of Japanese men polled want love with game characters

Knowing what we know about Japan, this figure doesn’t feel too surprising. Our real, beating hearts go out to our broken-assed Japanese friends.

In Japan, Konami conducted a lifestyle survey of 500 men in their twenties, just releasing the results late last month.  About 40 percent of these men said that they thought in-game love is something worth seeking out. About 20 percent of those polled actually want love with a videogame character.

And as for herbivore men, the type of guys who aren’t into perusing girls, the majority of those polled,  63.8 percent, felt that they fell under that umbrella.

I guess that this all would be quite a surprise to those not versed in Japanese culture. They might have also missed that some of these guys are wearing skirts now. Or maid outfits, playing bass guitar.

Come to think of it, our hearts also go out to the majority of Japanese gamers, most of which are totally normal, and probably none of which were present the day Konami conducted this poll.
