1UP talks Gears of War 2 multiplayer, posts video, we watch

After playing Gears of War 2, lead designer Cliff Bleszinski believes we’ll want to become vegetarians. I’d actually tried doing that for about ten years and let me tell you, no videogame is ever going to send me back there.

In the above video, Cliff chats with 1UP about multiplayer in Gears of War 2, including a new party system and the use of TrueSkill. Sadly, however, we’re told that clans will not be a part of the game. That sucks, as everybody knows that a big part of multiplayer games is putting “B==D” in brackets next to your name. Damn you, Epic, for ruining our penile fun!

The artist formerly known as Cliffy B also addresses host advantage issues, and a rather clever way of stopping achievement whores, which I find rather interesting indeed. Check it out; there’s plenty of cool footage, and if that’s not quite enough for you, CVG has some new art and screenshots as well.

Don’t know about any of you, but this one is on my shopping list.
