The folks at NeoGAF are a wonderous source of info. So, check out what they just
found:
some dude who works at some Walmart in Arkansas said they started selling GH2, we keep Walmarts out of NYC, so I'm out of luck :(
GO GET IT!!! HURRY!!! BEFORE THEY FIND OUT THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FOR SALE!!!
If you get it or run to your store and see it there, please send us an e-mail with pics or video as evidence and we'll post it up for you. Go forth my faithful!
Update from Fronz: Dressed in my best blogger gear (sweat pants and a hoody -- the microtransaction that
Oblivion is lacking) I traveled out to Wal-Mart, where an employee was actually playing the first
Guitar Hero game, and without even looking away from his Crossroads on Hard game, told me that they didn't have any
Guitar Hero II's, and that any other store that did would be in big trouble if they did. Precisely my goal, so I headed over to Target knowing I'd have to act a fool to get an employee to check the back for a nonexistent
GHII copy and bring it out for me, but first I have to wait for the kid in front of me to be served. OK, here we go ... act stupid, act stupid, act stupid, act stupid ...
Befuddled PSP owner: My PSP direction pad is broke, how do I get it fixed?
Target Employee: Hmm, I don't think we have anything that would help...
Me: Actually, you can an
external joystick online for it. (Fock, I blew it!)
Target Employee: Yeah, I read that on Joystiq a few days ago too.
Me: You read it on WHAT? 0.o
Me and Kevin talked for a while about
Joystiq and the next generation consoles. He said Joystiq was his daily read, but it bugged him that they were strictly a 9-5 blog, which of course was my cue to mention good ol' Dtoid and
GameWad too, hopefully he'll be reading this later tonight :). His views on next generation were pretty well rounded, but we had fun bickering about recent Sony bad news and how ridiculous the Wii dog tags are. Eventually the supervisor returned from the back without a
Guitar Hero II case, but said to call back Tuesday, so I'll stay hopeful. I scoped out Best Buy, EB, and Circuit City too since I was already out and about, but no luck there either.
So no luck for the Pittsburgh folks, if anyone else out there got mad lucky, make sure you hook us up with some pictures and videos of your success -- I'll be the fat dude coming down your chimney in a Santa suit tonight trying to steal it from you. Get the milk and cookies ready.
