PeterMain.jpg Bottom line: An "M" rated LEGO Star Wars with Family Guy animation and humor. I was invited by 2K Games today to check out their upcoming game Family Guy -- which in case you live under a rock is based on the animated television show of the same name. I'd have some video for you all, but unfortunately GameSpot has been given the first extensive gameplay video rights -- pfft, elitists. Anyway, what I got to see were a few of the levels in action with all three characters you'll be able to control during the game. Each has their own play style and game mechanic with little tales that tie in to the loose main storyline. Stewie.jpg Serving up some Stewie The first character 2K wanted to show me was that little tramp Stewie Griffin. When you play as Stewie, it's essentialy a platform shooter experience (think LEGO Star Wars and such). Besides collecting items to assemble his main weapon -- a ray gun -- players can also take over certain characters with Stewie's mind control capabilities which allow you to solve simple puzzles scattered throughout. This is where other characters come in to play like Quagmire and Louis. Brian.jpg Life of Brian When you take control of the family dog, Brian, you are playing what is more or less a stealth game. The level I was introduced to with Brian was right after he was thrown in to jail after being falsely accused of dropping his seed in someone's bitch (females dogs are called bitch -- always a great joke). As you're placed in jail, you escape immediately and must sneak past prisoners and such as you make your way out of the facility. Along the way, you'll see some prisoners giving each other backrubs and chasing that sweet prison ass around the showers. Funny stuff, I'm tellin' ya. PeterInside.jpg Peter is not a piper For the main man Peter Griffin, 2K told me they were going for a Final Fight-style of gameplay. Basically, Peter's missions are that of a pure brawler. Peter's story boils down to a convoluted mission of finding TV-legend Mr. Belvedere. He does this by kicking the crap out of strangers and collecting the food they drop. Overall impressions The game actually look fun and keeps a lot of that strange humor and fast cut away scenes (done with WarioWare-like mini-games) that you'd expect in something coming from the Family Guy. The game comes out Oct. 17 for the PlayStation 2, PSP, and Xbox. If you're a fan, I think this may actually be a solid game for you and you'll enjoy it. Although, if you agree with South Park's stance and can't stand Family Guy, then you won't like this game either.

Indeed, that is a good question, considering how long ago this was posted ><
