Just two months ago, DmC: Devil May Cry was released and caused quite a ruckus. While this unique entry in the Devil May Cry franchise didn't exactly light up the charts, and remains a contentious title with series fans, at t...
Vergil's Downfall is finally upon us, and after some Bloody Palace tips, I figured it would be a good idea to revisit DmC. When you think about it, tons of people let their games collect dust in a corner somewhere, waiting for potential DLC to come along -- but when they return, they don't find the experience to be a familiar one.
Vergil is sort of similar to Dante at a base level, but his add-on is completely different from the main campaign. Here are some tips to help acclimate yourself to Dante's brother.
Depending on who you talked to, they either succeed, or they failed. Personally, I felt like it was somewhere in the middle. While DmC wasn't even close to the franchise pedigree, it was still very much a serviceable action game, and Ninja Theory's best offering to date.
Which brings us to the newest downloadable content after Bloody Palace, a brand new story starring Dante's brother Vergil. Vergil's Downfall is more of the same, and your mileage will drastically vary on how much you enjoyed DmC: Devil May Cry in the first place.
This Monday heralds a week of mayoral responsibilities and the raiding of trap-laden tombs, both of which undoubtedly require similar skill sets. As much as I'm a big fan of Ms. Croft, and it seems like her latest outing is one of her best, I'm a tad more taken with managing a crazy little city.
I'll admit that I'm still not completely sold on SimCity, however. It certainly looks lovely, but I miss my water pipes and gargantuan utopias, and so many of the design choices seem to be aimed at people who are social butterflies, when I'm more of a grumpy moth. Regardless, I'm still rather excited about its imminent release, and will be doing my best to ensure that Beardtopia is the grottiest, most unfriendly city in all the land.
On top of SimCity and Tomb Raider, there are a plethora of other new releases demanding your attention this week. Two Naruto Shippundentitles drop, saturating the colorful, super-powered ninja market; Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk gives budding herbalists something to do on the PS3, while also searching for their lost sister; The Showdown Effect jumps out of a burning building and punches a vaguely German sounding villain in the face; and the 3DS gets a new Castlevania: Lords of Shadowtitle.
You lot are getting spoiled this week. What's tempting you the most?
For those of you who have never played a Devil May Cry game before, the Bloody Palace is an arena-like survival mode, where you face multiple levels of foes until you reach a set final end floor, and fight a final boss.
It's basically the Dark Realm from Onimusha franchise, and it's been in every game except for the first Devil May Cry.
If Capcom's short teasers aren't satisfying you while you wait for DmC: Devil May Cry's upcoming DLC, Vergil's Downfall, a few users in Europe have redeemed their codes before the March 5th release date, and have uploaded so...
[Update: the official trailer has been added]
Last we heard, the Vergil DLC for DmC: Devil May Cry was supposed to come out at some point in February, but Capcom just let us know today that the final release date is March 5t...
The upcoming downloadable story content for DmC picks up right where the game finishes, so needless to say this will be one spoiler filled preview.
At the end of DmC, Dante plunges his sword into Vergil and nearly kills the misguided brother. Vergil is spared, but he's left battered, bruised, and lost in a new realm that's closer to that of a hell-like dimension compared to the limbo areas that players went through as Dante.
Not only is Vergil badly hurt and lost in an unknown dimension, but he's also lost the amulet he was given by his parents, thus losing a good portion of his powers.
Initially, we just had a nebulous "after launch" release date for DmC: Devil May Cry's free Bloody Palace arena mode, but now it seems as if one is set in stone -- February 19 for the PlayStation 3, and February 20 for the Xb...
