YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. YES...

Hold up... YES. Okay, I'm finished.

More info from the latest issue of Nintendo Power regarding Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion on 3DS has just emerged. The DreamRift-developed title ties in not only to the original Epic Mickey but also to the f*ck-awesome Castle of Illusion on Sega Genesis. As with the Genesis game, it'll be a side-scroller with the Queen from Snow White as the main antagonist. On top of that, each level will be based on a Disney animated film from Sleeping Beauty to even Tangled, characters (such as Scrooge McDuck) will take residence in Mickey's home base à la the Suikoden series, and the game will feature hand-drawn sprites with extensive parallax scrolling backgrounds.

Yeah, the home console versions can officially kiss the fattest part of my ass.

Club Nintendo peeps and more get free Kid Icarus AR cards photo
Club Nintendo peeps and more get free Kid Icarus AR cards
by Tony Ponce

One of the hooks of the upcoming Kid Icarus: Uprising is the use of AR Cards to play special augmented reality minigames. The game itself will come with six cards randomly drawn from a pool of 20, but there are still tons of others to obtain. How can you get your greedy hands on some of the more elusive cards?

The easiest way is to be a Club Nintendo member. While supplies last, members can visit the Kid Icarus: Uprising card giveaway page and order a pack that includes "Great Reaper," "Drill Arm," and a rare "Palutena." If you aren't a member -- and really, you ought to be if you want to have some kind of proof of your digital purchases -- sign-ups are always free.

In addition, Game Informer and Nintendo Power subscribers will receive exclusive cards of their own, as will the first 250 Kid Icarus: Uprising purchasers on launch day at the Nintendo World Store. Packs will also be distributed at various events throughout the year, such as WonderCon and PAX East. So fire up the collector's spirit within and start hunting, you rabid consumer monkeys!

Offbeat Hall of Fame: A Link to the Past, the comic photo
Offbeat Hall of Fame: A Link to the Past, the comic
by Tony Ponce

All this week, Destructoid will be posting Zelda-themed features to celebrate this weekend's release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It's Zelda week!

If you were a gamer growing up in the States during the late 80s / early 90s, you had to subscribe to Nintendo Power or at least be close friends with someone who had. There were no bones about it! Sure, other gaming periodicals existed, but Nintendo Power had all the really juicy insider info.

That was the upside of being published in-house by Nintendo of America. The magazine was able to deliver an unprecedented level of content because there was no middleman. In addition to all the tips, tricks, and game maps you could want, there was the odd treat here and there. My favorite bonuses were the comics. The one-page strips starring Nintendo Power mascot Nester were alright, but they couldn't hold a candle to the monthly serials.

For this first entry of Offbeat Hall of Fame, my new gamer culture reflection series, I wish to share with you the glory that is Nintendo Power's The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past... the comic!

GameFan chief says the industry is a sad state of affairs
