Looks like Valve pulled a Nintendo and showed their cards too early - there's currently a Half Life 2 mod called 'Exite' that's hard at work to make a Portal knockoff game before Portal even comes out. I like how the actual portals look like on the walls - completely reminds me of Mario 64 where you just hop into paintings. Will be interesting to see progress from both Portal games now.
