That free Fast & Furious expansion for Forza Horizon 2 is out today

More free stuff to download on Xbox One and Xbox 360 assuming you get around to nabbing Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious before April 10, at which point the standalone expansion becomes $10. As we said previously,...

Microsoft details Xbox One April update, includes dedicated servers for party chat

The Xbox One continues to make incremental updates just like the PS4, and although the April update looks rather small, it's welcome. Microsoft is adding in voice messages between Xbox One and 360 owners, dedicated servers f...

Halo Online doesn't look half bad in motion

Yeah, this is about what I would expect from a free-to-play, multiplayer-only Halo game for Russia. That fast-forwarded run through the customization menu at 0:33 is telling -- rentable weapons, boosts, and "special offers."...

How does twice the number of Games with Gold in April sound? photo
How does twice the number of Games with Gold in April sound?
by Brett Makedonski

We're at that point in the month where it's time to start thinking about which adorable kitten is waiting to replace that other adorable kitten when you flip your calendar, and less importantly, what Xbox's Games with Gold titles will be. You can probably sneak a peek at the kitty cat whenever you want, but Microsoft's already allowed us to steal a glimpse at our free games.

April is fairly special in that there are twice the number of titles offered to download for free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Whether or not you're interested in all six of them is another story.

The two Xbox One games in April will have you chalking your cue and spouting off rhymes in awkward rhythm, too. Pool Nation FX and Child of Light are both available throughout the entirety of the month.

Those on Xbox 360 will find themselves sticking blades in necks, and chainsaws on guns. But, that's only half the fun. Gears of War: Judgment and Terraria will be available from April 1 to 15 (no foolin'!). After that, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel take over until it's time to flip to yet another kitten.

Multiplayer-only Halo Online headed to Russia

Halo Online sounds like something you'd see scribbled on a homemade DVD complete with copyright-infringing cover art but, no, it's a proper PC game in development at Saber Interactive. Granted, it's a free-to-play, multiplaye...

Fans will be 'really happy to see' Rare's next game

In recent months, there's been talk of Rare "building a uniquely Rare game," but that's as much as we've gotten -- talk. While I'm looking forward to seeing if that project comes to fruition, Playtonic has more of my attentio...

Microsoft-canceled Xbox One Phantom Dust reboot leaked, looks alright

Microsoft announced a reboot of a 10-year-old Xbox cult-classic, Phantom Dust, at its E3 conference last year. This raised a lot of "huh?" and a lot of "uh, ok" (from me included) but people who played the original were excit...

Microsoft is cool with pirates upgrading to Windows 10 for free photo
Microsoft is cool with pirates upgrading to Windows 10 for free
by Jordan Devore

Microsoft is launching Windows 10 this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages, which is good to know but not all that inherently interesting. This, on the other hand, sure is: during the operating system's first year, it'll be a free (permanent) upgrade for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 users including those who are running pirated versions of Windows.

"We believe customers over time will realize the value of properly licensing Windows and we will make it easy for them to move to legitimate copies," a Microsoft rep told Eurogamer.

Guess that means we can all play Gigantic together. Dibs on the owl guy.

You can switch Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record over to Steamworks tomorrow

Grab a free copy of BioShock Infinite on Xbox Live photo
Grab a free copy of BioShock Infinite on Xbox Live
by Jordan Devore

March is already half over (have you filed your taxes yet?), which means more free Xbox games.

With an active Xbox Live Gold membership, you can now download BioShock Infinite for free on Xbox 360. Love it or hate it, there's no denying the game's heavenly opener. Every once in a while I'll get the urge to see the ascension to Columbia again on YouTube. "Halleluiah."

Rayman Legends is the one and only free Xbox One title this month, but it's so good I don't even mind. That and the recently-released Ori and the Blind Forest make for a blissful combination.

Gigantic made me gigantic in the pants photo
Gigantic made me gigantic in the pants
by Jed Whitaker

At PAX East this year I walked past many of the larger booths and gave them little attention, as I am typically more interested in indie games. I got invited to a press-only demo for Gigantic -- a game I only knew of by seeing the signs for the booth on the show floor -- by fellow Destructoid editor Rob Morrow, so I went to see what it was all about. I'm glad I got to get hands-on time with the game, otherwise I wouldn't know just how fantastic Gigantic is.

When I first laid eyes on Gigantic it was breathtaking. The colorful graphics pop off the screen and are reminiscent of something you'd expect to see from Pixar or DreamWorks. The characters are all unique and really stand out from the equally colorful environments. The animation of character movements are all really fluid, especially for the game only being in alpha.
