Review: Dance Central 3 photo
Review: Dance Central 3
by Chris Carter

The Dance Central franchise took me by surprise. In the very early stages of Kinect, I was extremely skeptical of the tech --  to be blunt, I didn't really believe in it. After testing the first entry at E3, however, I was pretty much sold that it could work given the right developer, which given Harmonix's pedigree should have been obvious from the start.

Eventually Dance Central became the de facto "Kinect showoff" game in my household, and I still enjoy it from time to time with my wife. In short, the series pretty much delivers everything you expect from it.

So does Dance Central 3 carry on the legacy?

Sifl and Olly are sock puppets that review videogames

The late 1990s were a very different time for entertainment. It was a time when MTV played music videos most of the time, and when they didn't, it was usually so they could show you something that you couldn't find anywhere ...

E3: Harmonix 'ushers' in Dance Central 3

With over four million units sold across the world, you knew this was coming. All the same, I am EXCITE (yes, as in I am now the literal walking embodiment of the word "excite"). Dance Central 3 was just officially announced...

E3: Act a fool with Yoostar on MTV photo
E3: Act a fool with Yoostar on MTV
by Tony Ponce

Earlier this year, Yoostar 2 launched onto the Xbox 360 and PS3, allowing players to insert themselves into their favorite movies. Shortly thereafter, the game was integrated with Yoostar Playground, adding expanded social functionality to the core game. Players could upload their videos onto Yoostar Playground and, from there, send it to Twitter, Facebook, or even YouTube, while those without the game could still vote on their favorite performances.

At E3 and in the presence of an ever slick Snoop Dogg, the Yoostar Entertainment Group announced a partnership with MTV to bring Yoostar on MTV exclusively for Kinect. Players can act out scenes from MTV's vast catalog of original programming or music videos. And yes, that includes Jersey Shore.

Aside from the new content, Yoostar on MTV includes improved green screen tech to reduce pixelation and the chances of your head getting cut from the frame border. Also, 4 GB 360 Slim users can play this time around, expanding the experience to players lacking a hard drive.

Those ready to act a complete fool alongside Snooki and company can pick up Yoostar on MTV later this year for $49.99.

Leave the house, visit a store, get free Rock Band 3 DLC photo
Leave the house, visit a store, get free Rock Band 3 DLC
by Nick Chester

You should already have your free DJ Hero and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock downloadable content. But how about something for Rock Band 3? Sure, why not!

This one involves leaving the house, so put on some pants. This Friday is apparently "Record Store Day." What's a record store? You know, it's kind of like The Pirate Bay but you actually pay for physical copies of things there, and the clerks talk shit about your purchase choices behind your back.

Anyhow… the point: Harmonix and MTV Games are getting in on this as well, and visiting a local "Record Store Day" retailer will get you a free token that will allow you to download The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues" for Rock Band 3. Neat!

You can find a local participating store by visiting the official "Record Store Day" website.

If Jersey Shore were an RPG

This is probably good for a chuckle. It portrays a terrifying vision of the future in which Jersey Shore is licensed and produced as a videogame. Thankfully, the blow is softened somewhat by how clearly it's satire. Sti...
