Contest: Win Tickets to Japan Expo! photo
Contest: Win Tickets to Japan Expo!
by Tim Sheehy

Next week, Japan Expo launches its first convention on US soil! Japanator's Hiroko Yamamura had the pleasure of attending their expo in Paris last year, and was totally blown away by all the exciting events they had to offer. In addition to all the anime, and gaming taking place throughout the weekend, the Expo will also allow con-goers a taste of Japanese culture.

There's going to be martial arts demos, traditional crafts, and lots of yummy food in Santa Clara on August 23rd-25th, and we want to make sure we meet up with some of our readers while there, so we'll be giving away some tickets!

Review: Corpse Party photo
Review: Corpse Party
by Chris Walden

It's a shame that the humble visual novel so rarely sees a release outside of Japan. Games like those in the Ace Attorney series have helped generate interest out here in the west, but they are still far from commonplace. However, companies like XSEED Games are helping resolve this issue via localisation. It's something, as a huge fan of visual novels, that I can get behind.

You may have heard of the recently released Corpse Party, especially if you've read through the interviews that Elliot posted up a few months back. Many of us over at Japanator, myself included, have been eagerly anticipating its release. So, the big question rears it's ugly head. Does the game hold up to the hype? You'll see, right after the jump!
