Users reporting a variety of problems

It’s not a console launch without issues. As with the PlayStation 4, some users are experiencing hardware troubles with their newly acquired Xbox Ones. This Reddit thread has a collection of users with consoles that make a grinding noise when they enter a disc into the tray.
There are other issues being reported on the Xbox forums, but the majority seem to be the grinding noise issue.
Microsoft has released a statement regarding the issue:
“We know that with a hardware launch of this magnitude customers will have questions and we have many avenues for customers to get the answers they need and get back in the game as soon as possible. Rest assured we plan to take care of our customers. Any customer who believes they are experiencing an issue with their Xbox One should reach out to us.
There are many avenues available for customers to get in touch with us including:
– Talking to a live customer support person that can call you back if you don’t want to wait
– Xbox.com for support pages and forums
– On Twitter with @XboxSupport
– There are also Help and diagnostics on the console by saying “Xbox Help””
Here’s what Destructoid reader ghostpsalm777 was told by Microsoft support:
“This is what greeted me after getting my day one console. Called support, waiting on hold for 58 mins and then told it must be sent in for repairs so they would send a shipping box but takes 5 business days and next week is Thanksgiving.
They made a big deal about being able to send a “advance exchange” console in the box so I could at least keep playing while mine was being repaired BUT didn’t mention the fact till the end that they would put a $500 hold on my credit card until it was returned which I could not do.
Realize I won’t get charged but after buying everything I can’t have them placing a $500 hold of funds on my card. Curious to see if you are getting a lot of complaints sent in regarding the issue. Feel free to share the video; thank you!”
