WoW-style tribute to fallen friend

Recommended Videos

World of Warcraft music videos, even ones set to “Glycerine” by Bush, are a dime a dozen. Ones that I like enough to watch the entire way through, however, are metaphorical diamonds in the virtual rough. This video, entitled “Gotta Ding” is one such diamond, lampooning not only everything WoW, but also other pop culture icons, and I think it’s great. Where else will you find Jesus, Stevie Wonder, AOL, and recreational Xanax in one place (besides, Miami, of course)?
On a more serious note, the theme of the entire weekend has been the strength of not only the Destructoid community, but the gaming community as a whole. In keeping with this theme, it seems like a few guys from a guild called Venture Co. made this video as a tribute to Flyin’ Brian, whom they describe as “permanently away from keyboard.”
So, yeah, the video is kind of sad, but what better way to salute a friend than a YouTube about Warcraft full of lulz? It’s like the eulogy of our generation. It’s clever, and geeky, and I doubt a serious WoW player would want it any other way.
[Thanks, Austin!]
