World at War PC gets a patch, ‘Map Pack 2’ for free tomorrow

Call of Duty: World at War‘s “Map Pack 2” was extremely popular with the console crowd. So popular, in fact, that the premium $10 add-on was downloaded more than one million times in its debut week alone. In tomorrow’s patch for the PC version of the game, Treyarch is graciously including the very same DLC for free.

The actual patch itself brings a number of new things, including: mod-related improvements, letting co-op hosts kick players from their lobby, better spawns for dogs in multiplayer, and yes, fixes for some errors.

Obviously, the big news here is that free Map Pack. While free content for PC games is still expected from quite a few people these days, it’s always a pleasure to see when it does happen now that paid DLC has become so prevalent on consoles.
