Nintendo sent us the details on the Wii Shop update a little late today, but it’s kind of a big one. As Nintendo puts it, it’s “a set of exciting firsts.”
For example, Hudson’s first-person shooter Onslaught (1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points) hits WiiWare today. As you might expect from a first-person shooter, it’s got alien, humans, and shooting things. The game will also support Wi-fi functionality in “Onslaught,” which let’s you complete or team up with up to three other players. Looks decent for a downloadable title, but is not quite High Voltage’s The Conduit.
As expected, Commodre 64 games are coming to the North American Wii Shop Channel, and that day is today. And they’re not messing around with this first update — it’s three classic games. The Last Ninja (1 player, 500 Wii Points), International Karate (1-2 players, 500 Wii Points), and Pitstop II (1-2 players, 500 Wii Points) will all be available today. The games feature ninjas, karate, and driving … in that order.
