Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

Mouse Man Ho!

Saturday night's alright for fighting... or, y'know, just staying in, playing some games, watching a movie, eating some good food. My days of having a fight every single Saturday night went out with Global Hypercolor shirts and McDonald's bum-bags. Still, it is the weekend, and after a pretty distressing week, I'm very much ready for it.

Not much being played this week, but I finally got around to running through Lizardcube's beautiful, passionate and altogether delightful remake of Sega Master System classic Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. Created with stunning hand-drawn animation, an elaborate and heart-soaring score, beautiful character redesigns and, underneath it all, a practically frame-perfect recreation of the 1989 platform adventure. The Dragon's Trap remake goes beyond pulling nostalgia strings for a few bucks to become the slickest, most heartfelt, most authentic and most passionate video game remake ever made.

We are very much in a drought for new releases right now, but that's fine. It gives us all the opportunity to dip into those games left behind, perhaps pick up some of last year's instant classics, or return to that half-finished 60-hour adventure. So drop us a note below and tell what's been filling your hours in this eerily quiet period of the gaming year.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
