What is the 'surprise announcement' Sega has planned for Fes 2018?

If it's that Sonic racing game, it ain't a surprise

Tokyo will see a celebration of all things Sega next month, with the announcement of the Sega Festival 2018, which takes place at Bellesalle Akihabara on April 14-15.

The event will feature Sega games old and new, including museum displays looking at the company's hardware, arcades and marketing materials, as well as Q&A panels, merchandise stands, competitions and special guests.

Sega has also stated that a "surprise announcement" is to be made at the event. This announcement is always described as being "unique to Sega." I know that you, me, everyone else we know, or have ever met, want this to be Virtua Fighter 6, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was confirmation of the new Sonic racing title, which has been rumoured for some time now.

Sega Fes 2018 takes place in Akihabra, Tokyo on the weekend of April 14.
