Warner Bros. Entertainment has today announced DC Entertainment, a brand new company formed to improve the exposure of DC Comics properties with more movies, videogames and other forms of entertainment. The move follows the critical and commercial success of Batman: Arkham Asylum, so it’s no surprise that WB wants to keep up the momentum.

“DC Entertainment will be charged with strategically integrating the DC Comics business, brand and characters deeply into Warner Bros. Entertainment and all its content and distribution businesses,” declares the company.

WB’s new divisision will be led by Diane Nelson, who previously had been responsible for managing the Harry Potter franchise, something she will continue to do. She also acted as president of Warner Premiere, a smaller studio that produces direct-to-DVD movies and digital content.

Looks like you can expect to see a sequel to Arkham Asylum sooner rather than later, not to mention plenty more DC videogames. Which DC hero would you like to see get the “actually not crap” videogame treatment next?
