WarDevil finally canceled after five years

Well, it had to happen. Ignition’s action game WarDevil has finally had a bullet put in its brain after five years of treading water. The game was set to be an ambitious affair, boasting a “Hollywood grade” visual quality. Apparently it was a bit too ambitious to finish.

It’s said that around thirty people have lost their jobs in the wake of the cancellation, which has followed the closure of Ignition’s London studio, where WarDevil was being made. Originally a multiplatform game, it was canceled for Xbox 360, then un-cancelled for the Xbox 360, and now it’s cancelled for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

It’s never nice to hear about a cancelled game, especially a project as exciting as this one. I mean, it was called WarDevil. A devil that was literally war. Why do all the cool names have to wasted on doomed projects?
