Ubisoft is working on a new RPG

There’s no shortage of RPGs on the market these days (certainly different from when I was growing up!), bu tthat doesn’t mean fans of the genre aren’t always on the lookout for good new ones. Surely the ears of those fans will perk up when they hear that Ubisoft is working on a new fantasy-themed RPG.

Inside Mac Games spotted a listing on Gamasutra from Ubisoft Entertainment Shanghai seeking a Lead Game Designer on what they describe as “brand new fantasy RPG title for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac”. Looks like you’ll need a minimum of five years of experience in the industry to apply and also to have shipped at least two AAA RPG titles in a senior or lead game designer role.

Interesting, indeed. I’d like to see what kind of RPG Ubisoft might come up with. We haven’t seen anything from them in this genre since they published Enchanted Arms, and that one got pretty middle-of-the-road scores. We’ll keep an eye on this for you and let you know when we find out more.
