Tomb Raider coming back to comics

New series based on the new game

Dark Horse and Crystal Dynamics will be bringing out a new comic book series based on the new Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider: The Beginning is written by the game's lead writer, Rhianna Pratchett, and will be a prequel to the events leading up to the upcoming Tomb Raider.

The overall story focuses on how the crew are searching for the mysterious island Lara and friends eventually shipwreck on as part of archaeology TV show. Given how Lara doesn't become the action-adventure heroine we know and love until she crashes on this island, I'm imagining that the comic will be rather action-less.

Oh, and the hardcover version will be available for free to those that pre-order the game at Best Buy. Neat.
