Three Call of Duty games coming in two years

Activision has confirmed that the exploitation of Call of Duty is well underway, with three major games in the franchise planned over the next two years. Activision's human face, Dan Amrich, confirmed that the usual annual installments, plus a new game, are all coming.

"As for CoD, they’ve confirmed three games in the next two years," confirms Amrich. "Seeing as how there is a pattern of one new CoD game every year, this is one new CoD game from one new developer, and in a different genre from the core games we’ve seen."

The "new" CoD is obviously the third-person effort from Sledgehammer Games. Frankly, I'm surprised Activision hasn't raped the Call of Duty franchise further, considering it released over ten Guitar Hero games last year. The publisher has all the restraint of a six-year-old, and I won't be shocked if we get much more than three CoD games over the next 24 months.
