There's a game called PC Building Simulator and that's the only way you'll see a reasonably-priced GPU

Coming to Early Access in March

Assembling a PC from scratch is especially draining right about now. It always takes a fair amount of effort and resources to find and order all the components you want, and then to actually put the machine together. But, the cryptocurrency boom has virtually all video cards in short supply which means that they're selling for drastically inflated prices. It's not uncommon to see GPUs going for more than double their MSRP.

However, inside a video game is a place where GPUs will never be in short supply. A game called PC Building Simulator goes into Early Access on March 27, and you can probably guess what it's all about. It teaches users how all the different parts function and then walks them through the step-by-step of building a PC.

PC Building Simulator made the thrilling announcement today that MSI is an official partner that will be featured in the game, and that the Z370 and Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon mobos will be included. (Hey, it's probably thrilling to somebody.) Other partners are: Cooler Master, EVGA, Futuremark, NZXT, and Raijintek.

Because it feels extra-pertinent in this situation, here are the system requirements to run PC Building Simulator:

  • OS: Windows 7 or higher
  • Processor: Core i3 3.1 GHz or AMD Phenom II X3 2.8 GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 560 or Radeon HD6870 with 2GB VRAM
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Storage: 1 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX compatible

It'd be super ironic if you wanted to buy the game to teach you how to build a PC, but your current PC isn't good enough to run it in the first place.
