There are going to be new Power Ranger games!!!

In case you didn’t know (like me up until the other night), Saban Brands bought back the rights to the Power Ranger license. Saban wants to make the Power Rangers a household name once again, and it’s starting off with the new Power Rangers Samurai series premiering on Nickelodeon next week.

What’s that have to do with videogames? Well Namco Bandai will be working on new Power Rangers games for “all major consoles and handheld home console videogame platforms.” Unfortunately, that’s all Namco have to say for now.

I’m not embarrassed to say it — I loved the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I grew up with the series, so this is just awesome news. GO GO POWER RANGERS! Namco had the new Power Rangers team at the preview event, and there are some pictures of them in the gallery.

Most important, there’s also a shot of the Pink Ranger playing the Body and Brain game for Kinect. I just want to travel back in time and tell my 12-year-old self that the future involves watching the Pink Ranger stretch around in her tight pink jumpsuit to play videogames controlled with your freaking body. I love my f*cking job.
