The threat of infection in Resident Evil Revelations

Real viruses inspired the developers

Capcom's latest look at Resident Evil Revelations features a few of the developers behind the project as they detail what inspired them to create the new monsters. Basically, the ideas came from real viruses and how dangerous they can be if left unchecked.

The last half of the video also focuses on how the team used visuals and sound to "create an effective horror atmosphere" in order to get their game to stand out from the pack.

Resident Evil Revelations is out on May 21 in North America and May 24 in Europe for the PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
