That Dark Souls III Estus Flask replica is embarrassing junk

I hope none of you bought the Dark Souls III Prima Official Game Guide - Estus Flask Edition specifically for its namesake.

Normally $129.99 (or around $80 on Amazon right now), the collector's edition package includes an 8" metal sword bookmark, a Darksign journal, a hardcover Dark Souls III guide, and a "high-quality, resin replica of the emerald Estus Flask [that is] sure to be 'an undead favorite' of any Dark Souls fan."

This is what the trinket looks like in reality:

So, pretty good margins for Prima, I'd imagine.

The photo comes from Amazon reviewer Geraine, who writes, "What is shown in the product photo is NOT what was in the box. The Estus flask is complete garbage and looks, feels, and seems cheap. If the flask had been shaded / painted, hollow, and contained perhaps a removable lid held together with twine, it would have made a fine display piece. Unfortunately what we got resembles something like an unfinished statue of Gumby, but without the charm or nostalgia."

Other reviewers are a little more lenient, awarding the collector's edition package two stars, rather than just the one, but the sentiment is the same: "overpriced," "garbage," "they totally boned it."

To be fair, the product description does include a tidbit suggesting the flask would be, at the very least, less than ideal. After clicking "read more" and looking at the bottom of the summary, you can see a note specifying that "The opaque polyresin flask is sealed and does not hold liquid."

But still. Look at this thing. It's on par with a crappy last-minute homemade Christmas gift.
