TGS 09: First look at RE 5: Alternative Edition’s extras

Recommended Videos

Here’s the latest, blurriest, off-screen footage of the recently announced Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition. We’ve already seen how the game will control, but now we’ve got a better idea what the extra content lies in store for those who want to once again enter the world of survival horror.

It looks like the previously cut-scene only “Shadows of the Past” scenario about Chris and Jill entering a (surprise!) spooky mansion will now be a playable part of the game. As it stands now, that cinema is one of the most fun, genuinely Resident Evil parts of RE5, and the fact that I’ll soon be playing it for myself is exciting on its own. Add some slick pointer controls, a spiked ceiling trap, and some hardcore cranking, and you have yourself a winner.

It’s unclear if this new content will be made available via DLC, retail only, 360 and PS3, or PS3 only, so stay tuned for more info and an incoming hands-on report from those lucky f*cks at TGS 09. I bet you ten bucks that as we sit at home watching crappy Youtubes of this, Dale North has already played, beaten, and written a how-to FAQ on this new scenario.

Lucky f*cks…
