Take a theoretical look at the Microsoft store

I know, I know. You just can’t wait to finally get to step foot inside a Microsoft retail store and buy 360 games straight from the source. It’s possibly going to be the most exciting moment of your life. You’ve already applied to work there. You spend hours daydreaming of what the store will look like and how glorious it will be. Now Gizmodo is helping to fuel those fires as they’ve found a Powerpoint presentation detailing some of the ideas that have been tossed into the store.

Looking through the slides it seems pretty clear that Microsoft has taken all the good ideas from the Apple Store, Sony Style and other stores of that ilk and crammed it into their own. It also looks like the 360 will be a major part of the store. Some of the possible highlights for the store as pointed out by Gizmodo will be a massive digital media screen that wraps around the entire store, plenty of demos, an “Answer Bar,” and the ability to have a birthday party in the store. More exciting though are plans to feature events that will show off Natal.

After Gizmodo leaked the Powerpoint, which was developed Lippicott, a “design and brand strategy” consultant firm, a Microsoft rep informed them that, “As a part of our process in briefing creative agencies, we shared some early prototypes and concepts of our retail store plans. No final decisions have been made. As we previously announced, we are on track to open retail stores this Fall.” Nothing here is concrete then, but the ideas sure look sexy.
