Super Street Fighter IV is coming. Yup, total surprise, I know.
Here’s what you didn’t see coming: it will be a standalone retail disc, but it won’t be sold at full retail price. Capcom wanted to release the new content as DLC, but it’s not possible due to all the changes they’ve done. SSFIV will provide current Street Fighter IV owners with some kind of special bonus though, which sounds kind of odd.
So what’s going to be in Super Street Fighter IV? Eight new characters are coming, two of which you already know about: T. Hawk and new female fighter Juri. The number of new characters could change though as Capcom is open to fan feedback. In fact, a lot of the new content here is based on fan feedback.
A lot of tweaks and rebalancing work is being put into the online code and the original 25 fighters, and because of that, there won’t be any online verses compatibility between Super and regular Street Fighter IV.
The new game will be out in Spring, 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. So how do you guys and gals feel about Super Street Fighter IV? Here’s a round-up of our continued SSF IV coverage:
