Pokemon Let's Go director shares interesting development stats in recent 'thank you' letter

100 people worked on the game

Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee & Pikachu have been a success, managing to woo in a lot of veterans and appeal to a new generation of trainers. After positive sales numbers have been cascading for days now Game Freak team member and Let's Go director Junichi Masuda shared a heartfelt thank you, which was littered with all sorts of interesting stats.

According to the letter, Masuda notes that although the team had difficulties in development, they did have a team of 100 people working on it. His entire goal was to allow people to "get close to their Pokemon," in a way that hasn't been possible before. Trying to reach that goal is why the team had so much trouble, but they powered through it and are proud of the features they added, including multiplayer and the production of the Poke Ball Plus.

At this point we have so many remakes of previous generations that it's getting hard to keep track (and I own them all), but it seems to me like this is a viable strategy going forward: give Pokemon players a familiar snack before the main course that unleashes all of the brand new creatures and locales into the world.
