Ghost Song is an unsettling Metroid-like adventure

Good year for gaming

Nintendo may not be working on a new 2D Metroid, but we've got creators like Matt White and Tom Happ out there filling that void with Ghost Song and Axiom Verge, respectively.

I come away feeling like we're in good hands every time I check in on these titles. If this trailer is your introduction to Ghost Song, you've arrived at the right time. It's so much more refined than what was presented initially. For extended footage, Darren's got you covered. And, what with you possibly being new to it and all, a reminder: "approximately half of the game world is optional."

Now if only there were a resurgence in Symphony of the Night-style games. That'd be heavenly.
