Wait, what?

Yes, according to one Japanese school, the answer to juvenile violence is to have them take a break from videogames once every twenty-one days. An 11-year old Marugame boy stabbed a schoolmate in the back with a pair of scissors, and his education board hit upon a revolutionary new way of ensuring it doesn’t happen again.

Students have now received printouts from their teacher giving them handy tips that should apparently help ease the situation. One of the pieces of advice is “every third Sunday should be a day without TV and videogames.”

As far as the stabber goes, he’s been referred to the local children’s counseling center. They’re trying to work out what his exact motivations are before deciding anything else.

It was clearly because he’d been playing too much Scissor Stabbing IV: This Time, It’s Scissor every third Sunday.
