It’s quite possible that we could see the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic as early as Spring 2011.

During a recent EA fiscal conference call, EA CEO Jon Riccitiello said that an unspecified “major” EA MMO is “making great progress towards a Spring 2011 launch.”

We’re assuming Riccitiello is talking about BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic instead of an unannounced MMO worthy of “major” status.

The publisher’s other notable upcoming MMO is the Realtime Worlds’s All Points Bulletin, which is still slated to hit during March of this year.

Riccitiello added that it’s possible that the mentioned MMO might not make it out the door thanks to the MMO market’s ridiculousness. “But given the volatility of this particular sector,” he cautioned, “and the fact that we haven’t yet provided a specific launch date, at least for now we’ll be excluding it from our FY 11 plans for guidance.”
