An exploit in ‘Splosion Man received a band-aid, according to official release. At 2 AM PDT this morning, developer Twisted Pixel Games wiped erroneous leaderboard information and title-updated the hell out of an exploit that allowed people to cheat the game and put up ridiculous scores.

Twisted Pixel has dubbed this response, a title update, to the exploit “Splodejement Day.”

The title update comes at a perfect time. On September 6th-12th, the studio is throwing a contest called “Speedy ‘Splode,” that challenges players of the Xbox LIVE Arcade title to earn the best possible time in level 3-8. The winner of the contest takes home a ‘Splosion Man statue and a developer-autographed poster.

On an unrelated, but totally related note: the official release mentions that this title update won’t include Avatar accessories support. Apparently, the “timing of that release is up to Microsoft.” So, expect it when you care the least.
