Sony’s NGP getting Havok and Unreal Engine 3 support

Two of the biggest tools that game makers like to make our games with, Havok and Unreal Engine 3, are now supporting Sony’s Next Generation Portable, the NGP. The physics and game engine both support Sony’s upcoming device and game makers have already been tinkering with both as GI says that some of the system’s launch games will use these engines. They say that Epic’s engine was  first demonstrated to Sony execs on the NGP back in January, with a full suite of lighting, particle effects and animations flying off that sexy screen.

“NGP raises the bar for the performance of handheld platforms with its multi-core GPU and shader-based, multi-core CPU,” said Epic VP Mark Rein. “This makes Unreal Engine 3 a particularly advantageous fit for NGP.”

Enough tech talk! Let’s see what you’ve done with these tools, game makers.
