Sony’s answer to the Avatar is the EyePet

I know what you were thinking when you were on the john this morning in-between the crossword puzzle and the Sports section in the newspaper. You were thinking, “Hey, I really need something other than Home to satisfy my casual gaming desires. I sure hope Sony unveils something at Leipzig this year.” If you were actually thinking that this morning, then welcome to my world folks. Today, Sony revealed the newest casual experience, EyePet for the PlayStation 3.

Details are fuzzy at this point, but the main idea of EyePet is to utilize your PlayStation Eye camera for a purpose other than SingStar videos. Player’s will somehow grab a cute little pet and then act out playing with and petting the adorable creatures. The guy on this monitor looks absolutely riveted by the thing on the screen, and he has a controller in his hand.

Even though the line is blurred currently on how you interact with the EyePet, you can be sure that I’m on it. Fuzzy little creatures that have the propensity to bite things is what I’m all about.
