You remember those glitches that were occurring for a few people when PS3 Firmware 3.0 was released? The ones that Sony tried to fix with Firmware 3.1? Well, according to Sony, it’s no longer a problem with Firmware and if you’re one of the unlucky ones who encountered issues, you may very well be up sh*t creek.
Following mounting complaints from frustrated users, Eurogamer asked Sony to comment on customer complaints detailing their inability to play a number of Blu-rays on the PS3. All Sony has said in response is that it’s “not an issue with the Firmware.” Those experiencing problems are being told by customer services to get their ailing machines repaired at a cost they will have to cover themselves if the system is out of warranty.
Sony will not say what the problem is, which is a little disconcerting. We’ll have to wait and see if this becomes a bigger deal than it currently is.
