Home has been a bit of a whipping boy in recent months thanks to its continued delays. Sony UK’s managing director Ray Maguire, however, would argue that to mock Sony is unfair, especially as it’s just trying to make Home the best it can be.
We have to make sure that things are born at the right time, that the infrastructures are right and are tested, and that they actually work,” explains Maguire when addressing the lengthy development process. “It’s one of the things that PlayStation has been known for – a plug-and-play mentality, rather than a patch-patch mentality.”
It’s easy to kick Home about, but if Sony is not just giving us a blast from the bullsh*t hose, I can respect the decision to hold back a product until it’s finished. Of course, one could argue that Home is not exactly the sort of thing Sony should be focusing so heavily on, given its main market, but at least if it’s a waste of our time, it’ll be a high quality waste of our time.
